In “Art Fundamentals”, you will be taught how to draw proportionate and accurate shapes in a compositionally pleasing manner. This is the cornerstone of any successful drawing and painting. Students will first copy a Bargue lithography in graphite. Charles Bargue was a French painter and lithographer, and his work is studied around the world to help students learn the basics of accurate and proportional drawing, whilst still maintaining a sense of sensitivity. We will then create and draw a simple still life, building on the skills from the previous exercise with a more complex subject. Drawing from life rather than photographic reference will encourage you to truly see and understand your subject and build a strong drawing method.
Students will receive assignments with instructions and online demos. Students will join an online conference as a group on Saturdays, during which the teacher will provide specific coaching to each student.
Note: Extra and individual online critiques can be arranged for an additional cost of 1000 SEK/hour (800 SEK + moms)
